Klara + Michal | Belcarra + Deep Cove wedding | Vancouver intimate wedding photographer

November 12, 2018

Yes, I did it again. Another wedding ( I guess I should stop saying that I don't do weddings). But this time, there was no way I'd say no. And you'll see why. Klara is Czech (as me) and one day she asked me to photograph their wedding. I had not much deciding to do. Besides it being a small intimate wedding (that I so dearly love), basically just two of them, witnesses, bride's parents and their sweet little girl, there was also, wait for it... a YACHT involved. Yes, their yacht named Angel that was supposed to sail the waters of Pacific Ocean on their wedding day. And I was supposed to be on it. Me: Just say when and where, I'll be there! Haha.
But let's not make it just about that.
Day itself was as summery as it could get. Clear skies, sun shining, ocean sparkling. Wedding-perfect! Preparations started early in their home in Port Coquitlam. Klara and Michal already had been living together for some years when they finally decided to tie the knot. They got custom-made wedding bands from Czech Republic which were part of the reason to finally do it. :)
After a little mix up with flowers we headed out to the Rocky Point Park in Port Moody where the yacht was docked and from where we set out to Belcarra Park where the ceremony took place. That was a bit wild ride (I felt like flying at certain times) since we were running late (I'm wondering is there any wedding with everything going as planned? ). Ceremony was reaaally pretty, on a pier, by the ocean with light breeze... it didn't matter that they have only little piece of that pier just for themselves but it certainly felt like nobody else was there, just them and their closest. After ceremony, we slowly (that slowly that I got sunburns) sailed to Deep Cove for a wedding lunch and I enjoyed every minute of it while working.
{It keeps surprising me what places my job is taking me}
It was an extraordinary (at least for me) and beautiful day in so many ways and I really thank you, Klara and Michal, for the opportunity to capture it!
